Once you are done with ordering the food you wonder how it will be, while enjoying your awesome free appetizers, and waiting for your main dish. A few minutes later the dish that you were waiting to eat eagerly comes onto your table “Korean BBQ” or “hotpot or stew”. And it turns out to be super delicious and tasty, that you enjoy it wholeheartedly.

Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner the most important part of any Korean meal is “Rice”. It’s more than the main dish; it’s the foundation of the meal. With a few substitutes: Noodles, dumplings, porridge, or rice cake soup, every meal is made around rice, and without it, you won’t feel like having a meal at all!! Rice is the most important part of the meal and must be served.

With rice always comes Kimchi, stew, or soup (and sometimes both). These 3 things are essential to Korean home-style meals, which usually come with side dishes, aka banchan. Banchan are made in many kinds and the decision of what to make depends on what you’re craving, plus seasonal, diet, and health conscious.
The soup always comes right in front of you and rice to the left of the soup and chopsticks on the outside. The side dishes are to balance out each other: color, textures, tastes, and cooking methods are unique and make for a well-balanced meal.

Unlike a restaurant, everything is served on the table at the same time. And this way you can choose from different dishes and eat how you like, set side by side and complementing the delicious tastes, textures, and temperatures as you like. While having the Fish, you should pick each piece and eat it whole, don’t just take a bite of it and put the rest back into the dish.
Traditional Kimchi Is Eaten as a Side Dish with Almost Every Korean Dish, it needs to be there!
Roasted Fish: Fish is served whole on the table. Using chopsticks to pluck off bite-sized bits.
